Professional photography and video production will be taking place at LIVES 2021 and these images may be used in future promotional materials for ESICM events. By attending or participating in ESICM congresses and other activities, the delegate acknowledges that the Event or part of it may be filmed by audio, visual, audio-visual or electronic means or photographed, including photographs of individuals or groups of delegates.
The delegate agrees to permit ESICM, or any third party licensed by ESICM, to use and distribute such footage and photographs, which may feature images of him/herself, in all or any media (including social media) whether now known or hereafter to be invented throughout the world in perpetuity for the purposes of advertising, publicity, reporting and otherwise in relation to the exploitation of such recordings and photographs.
Please inform the photographer if you do not wish to be included in any individual or group photographs.
Policy accompanying persons
Accompanying persons must buy a delegate badge if they wish to enter the congress centre. Children are not permitted to enter at any time.
The name badge provided to participants for identification and entry to the congress is intended for the exclusive use of the registered delegate. Unauthorised persons found to be fraudulently using a delegates badge will be asked to leave and the badge will be confiscated.
It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to take care of his/her visa requirements. Attendees who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure. Attendees should contact their nearest embassy or consulate to determine the appropriate timing of their visa applications.
The organisers will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants.
If for any reason a visa cannot be granted and the visa was applied for in time, an applicant may apply for a refund, provided that there is official proof from the Embassy to confirm that a visa could not be granted. This document should be sent to the ESICM Congress Registration department. The registration fee, minus a handling fee of 50 EUR, will be refunded after the Congress.
The congress organiser shall be held liable in the framework of a duty of care as a respectable business operator, according to statutory provisions. The liability of the congress organiser - for whatever legal reason - shall be limited to intent and gross negligence. The liability of commissioned service providers shall remain unaffected by this. The attendee shall take part in the Congress at his/her own risk. Oral agreements shall not be binding if these have not been confirmed in writing by the congress organiser.
Letter of invitation
Individuals requiring an official Letter of Invitation can request one from the ESICM Registration Department. To receive a Letter of Invitation, attendees must first register to the Congress and submit payment in full.
The Letter of Invitation does not financially obligate the congress organisers in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the Congress are the sole responsibility of the attendee.
