ESICM Awards Programme

The 2025 ESICM Research Awards Programme is set to open on 1 February. ESICM has been supporting both young and more established researchers in intensive care medicine for many years.

Surveys

ESICM-endorsed research surveys are essential for identifying areas where research is most needed. This is a unique opportunity to stimulate new research and advance knowledge. We are always open to supporting through endorsement the research projects and surveys that our members bring to us. Do you have a survey you would like ESICM to endorse? Fill in the application form and forward it here

ESICM Trials

ESICM aims to foster collaborative research among its members and to promote European Intensive Care Research. The Society has supported 18 Trial Group studies to date, that have enrolled more than 69,000 patients in total (update October 2024). All studies, observational or interventional, were international multicentric.
The Trial Group contributed to the advancement of knowledge of research in intensive care.
Procedures for ethical committees vary between countries. In order to facilitate the organisation of your research project you can find relevant information on the European Network of Research Ethics Committees website and on the WHO National Committees database.
