Research Learning Pathway

This pathway will allow a progressive build from the basic introduction to research and research methods for participants with little or no post-graduate research experience to the more advanced level which may be of specific interest to those with more research experience who want a refresher or need focused training on a specific topic.

It will cover the range of knowledge and skills required to embark on a career as an intensive care researcher.

The Translational biology Section was founded in 2017 as a Group within the Acute Respiratory Failure section, and so has progressed a number of initiatives, including the following:

• Creating a Registry of Basic/Translational research groups that are happy to share information and collaborate
• Contributing to Basic/Translational science sessions at LIVES conferences,
• Partnering with Intensive Care Medicine Experimental to develop and publish ‘viewpoint’ and ‘position’ papers relating to preclinical research and its importance in Intensive Care Medicine.
• Partnering with the INSPIRES group (a group of lung researchers in Europe) to provide a platform for presentation of preclinical/translational research that focuses on emerging researchers.
• Partnering with the NEXT trainee group to examine ways to provide enhanced training opportunities using our network of laboratories across Europe.
