Humanisation in critical care refers to the approach of treating patients and their families as individuals with unique experiences, emotions, and needs.
This programme aims to provide an overview of the importance of humanisation in critical care, and how healthcare professionals can provide evidence-based, person-centred care in their daily practice to improve patient outcomes and experiences. By the end of this webinar series, participants will have an understanding of the impact of humanisation in critical care and how to transfer person-centred practices in their clinical practice.

Objectives & Methodology
The webinar series aims:
- To raise awareness of the importance of humanisation in critical care and how it impacts patient outcomes and experiences.
- To provide clinicians with evidence-based, patient and family-centred interventions.
- To enhance compassionate and holistic rehabilitation for critically ill patients.
This series of webinars includes a total of 5 sessions by July 2023 followed by two additional webinars in autumn 2023.
The best-scoring 20 participants in the evaluation of the spring/summer webinars will benefit from a free entry to any of the e-Courses ESICM offers in 2023 or 2024. The deadline to participate in the competition is Sunday, 10 September.
The two additional webinars to be held in September and November will capture and explore current issues in intensive care medicine that are of importance to all intensive care healthcare professionals, but more specifically to intensive care nurses & allied health professionals (N&AHPs). These webinars will cover sustainability in ICUs and the use of syringe pump systems for micro-infusion intravenous drug therapy.
