Environmental sustainability in intensive care: the path forward. An ESICM Green Paper
At LIVES 2024, ESICM proudly launched the Green Paper on Environmental Sustainability, marking a significant step forward in addressing sustainability challenges in intensive care.
This paper outlines practical strategies for reducing the ecological footprint of ICUs while maintaining high standards of care. Key areas covered include energy efficiency, sustainable procurement, and the creation of Green ICU Teams. The Green Paper serves as a comprehensive roadmap for ICU stakeholders, encouraging the integration of sustainable practices into daily operations without compromising patient care quality.
Let’s take action together for a healthier planet and better patient outcomes.
