Organ failure remains one of the leading causes of death in trauma patients and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is one of the most common organ failures after trauma. The AKI incidence is reported to be up to 50% and has been independently associated with prolonged hospital length of stay and mortality. The most common risk factors that trigger AKI in a trauma patient are haemorrhage, rhabdomyolysis, and traumatic inflammation.
Follow the experts’ discussion and learn more about AKI in trauma.
