The future of Echocardiography in ICU

What is the EDEC Programme?

Echocardiography is increasingly used in intensive care. In this icTV video, Anthony McLean discusses how clinicians can utilise echocardiography in the ICU and Antoine Viellard-Baron explains how the European Diploma in EchoCardiography (EDEC) has been designed to provide intensivists with the advanced skills needed to use this diagnostic tool.

EDEC is a comprehensive programme which encorporates advanced courses in echocardiography with practical training and educational webinars to prepare candidates for an competency exam. Successful completion of the programme designates that the intensivist is competent in advanced critical care echocardiography.
