The ESICM Society Medal is awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to both the Society and the specialty over a prolonged period of time. 

From his many years within the society to his current role as Editor-In-Chief of Intensive Care Medicine, Elie Azoulay has shown himself to be a truly dedicated member and specialist. Colleagues from medical school onwards discuss discuss his contributions to ESICM, the journal and his patients in this icTV video shown during the opening session of LIVES 2018 in Paris.
