Systemic Inflammation and Sepsis
Mission
The Systemic Inflammation and Sepsis section is devoted to research and educational activities in the field of systemic inflammatory responses with or without infection and related issues.
Sepsis and septic shock are leading causes of death worldwide. The main goals of the Systemic Inflammation and Sepsis section are: to improve the quality of care in patients with life-threatening inflammations with and without infections; to improve the knowledge of all aspects of pathophysiology, prevention, and treatment of sepsis in critically ill patients; to promote education about this syndrome; to foster experimental and clinical research in the field of sepsis and systemic inflammation.
All ESICM members interested in this field are very welcome to participate in our section’s activities and join our group. For further information, please contact Chair Lene Russel.
The last SIS Section meeting took place on Tuesday, October 28th, at the International Congress Centre of Munich.
