Mission

The INF Section brings together members with diverse expertise across the field of infection in critically ill patients. Key areas of focus include the management of infectious syndromes such as pneumonia and intra-abdominal infections, diagnostics and biomarkers, antimicrobial therapy and stewardship, patient monitoring, and infection prevention and control.
Our mission is to promote high-quality education and foster research in the field of infections in intensive care. We welcome all ESICM members with an interest in infection management and actively encourage contributions, ideas, and collaboration on new topics, projects, and initiatives

The last meeting took place on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at the International Congress Centre in Munich.
