New free webinar

The ageing of the population has increased the demand for healthcare resources. The number of patients aged 80 years and older admitted to the ICU increased during the past decade, as has the intensity of care for such patients.

In this free webinar, our expert panel from the ESICM Health Services Research & Outcome (HSRO) Section addressed the question of which elderly patients benefit from ICU admission.

Learning Outcomes:

By attending this webinar you will gain deeper insights into:

• how to assess critically ill elderly patients
• what is acceptable, in terms of intensive care support, for the patients and their families
•  the current European practice with regards to limitations of life-sustaining treatment.
