Sepsis, Severe Infections and Stewardship pathway

Last updated : 13/01/2026 - 7459 views

Infection and sepsis remain major global health priorities and present specific challenges to intensive care practice. Building on ESICM’s education initiatives in infection management, sepsis, and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), including LIVES workshops, fellowships, and digital learning modules, this programme delivers a hybrid model. It combines ESICM-led centralised activities (ensuring scientific quality and consistency) with decentralised, country-specific activities (supporting national adaptation and capacity building). AMS remains a cross-cutting priority aligned with EU and global health policy priorities.
