The Refresher Course in Haemodynamics sets on the foundations built during the previous courses in the pathway concerning cardiovascular pathophysiology, diagnostics and treatment options in various shock states.
The course reviews the assessment of fluid responsiveness and the use of advanced monitoring tools, including transpulmonary thermodilution, pulmonary artery catheterization, and critical care echocardiography.
Additional topics include the use of fluids, vasopressors, and inotropes in shock, the management of cardiogenic shock and right ventricular dysfunction, cardiac-related weaning failure from mechanical ventilation, and the application of the ROSE concept to bedside decision-making.
Learning is reinforced through clinical cases and small-group discussions.
As a participant – you have access to the virtual classroom on the ESICM ACADEMY
