Practical use of fast AST methods for managing BSI & positive blood cultures

For the treatment of patients with bloodstream infections (BSI), rapid and accurate diagnosis of the responsible microorganism and appropriate antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) improve patient care.

This live interactive session will discuss different AST phenotypic methods and their application in real clinical settings. Your direct participation will be central: you will be engaged in discussion and your input will be asked during the clinical case demonstration.

The European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) has accredited the session with 1 European CME credit (ECMEC®).

  • Be aware of fast phenotypic AST methods existing.
  • Understand what patients will benefit from a fast phenotypic AST method.
