Kidney-Lung interaction in AKI & ARDS: replay available
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The combination of the two drastically worsens the patient outcome, increasing mortality rates and hospital length-of-stay.
These conditions require a specific approach to ARDS patients with AKI complications. However, the treatment strategies for patients with ARDS and AKI are similar to the treatment of either condition alone.
This webinar, organised by the ESICM Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) Section, will answer your questions.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe the clinical presentations of an AKI-complicated ARDS patient through a progressive clinical case.
- Discuss the kidney-lung interaction and clinical outcomes in such patients.
- Review the treatment strategies.
