We are proud to share that the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) has just released its highly anticipated recommendations and expert opinions on end-of-life (EoL) and palliative care for critically ill adults! This colossal work, crafted by an international, multi-disciplinary panel of clinical experts, a methodologist, and representatives of patients and families, is now available to all clinicians.

These evidence-based guidelines are designed to elevate patient-centred care, enhance the well-being of relatives, and empower ICU staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality EoL and palliative care. By following them, we can better support families and healthcare teams, ensuring that care is both effective and empathetic during the most critical moments.
