Launch of the ESICM Awards Programme


We are pleased to announce the launch of the ESICM Awards Programme, an initiative established by the Executive Committee to recognise and celebrate individuals and teams shaping the future of intensive care.

These awards aim to highlight excellence across science, education, innovation, collaboration, advocacy, and patient-centred care. They reflect ESICM’s commitment to advancing the field and acknowledging the outstanding contributions of our members across Europe and worldwide.

Across the intensive care community, professionals are continuously improving patient outcomes, strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration, advancing research, and inspiring the next generation.

The ESICM Awards Programme seeks to give visibility to these achievements and honour those making a true impact in our speciality.

The 2026 ESICM Award Programme recipients will be honoured during LIVES 2026 in Lisbon.

Who can nominate?

All ESICM members are invited to submit nominations for colleagues or teams whose work deserves recognition within the intensive care community.


Why nominate?

By nominating a colleague, you help celebrate achievements that strengthen intensive care practice, education, research and patient care worldwide.


Nomination requirements

Each submission should include:
✔️ Nominee details and award category
✔️ A structured nomination statement (max. 750 words)
✔️ Supporting documentation (if applicable)
✔️ Two letters of support

Applications close on 15 June 2026.
