Since 1911, the day has belonged to everyone who believes that opportunity, leadership and recognition should never be limited by gender.

The theme of #IWD2026 — Give to Gain reminds us that progress happens when we actively support one another. By investing in mentorship, visibility, opportunity and leadership for women, we strengthen not only individuals but the entire professional community. In intensive care medicine, fostering diversity and inclusion enriches scientific thinking, strengthens collaboration, and ultimately improves patient care.
