Six years of growth: ICM & ICMx

ESICM’s flagship journal Intensive Care Medicine was built by a host of talented editors over the past decades, and the last six years under the guidance of Editor-In-Chief Elie Azoulay, the journal has seen enormous change and growth in the editorial line and the Impact Factor.

The newest addition to the journal fleet, ICM Experimental (ICMx) began in 2013 under the steady guise of Mervyn Singer and has been building momentum in publishing often ground-breaking pre-clinical research related to intensive care medicine in an online open access format.

As Elie Azoulay hands his baton to Giuseppe Citerio and Peter Radermacher takes over for Mervyn Singer  in January 2019, former ICM EIC and current ESICM President Massimo Antonelli shares his thoughts and  gratitude for our two outgoing Editors.
