ICM Editor In Chief Elect announcement
Giuseppe Citerio named as Editor In Chief Elect of Intensive Care Medicine
(BRUSSELS) ~ Professor Giuseppe Citerio has been named as the Editor in Chief Elect of Intensive Care Medicine (ICM), the official journal of ESICM, focused on publication of clinical research in critical care medicine. The search committee, headed by ESICM President Massimo Antonelli, President Elect Josef Kesecioglu and ICM Editor In Chief Elie Azoulay made the announcement on December 13, 2017.
Giuseppe Citerio is Professor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the Milano Bicocca University, School of Medicine and Surgery and Director of Anaesthesia and Neurosurgical Intensive Care at San Gerardo Hospital, Monza. A long term, active member of ESICM, he has held the positions of Chair of the Division of Scientific Affairs and led the Neurocritical Care section. At Intensive Care Medicine, Giuseppe has served for more than 10 years, as editor and currently, as Senior Deputy Editor of the journal.
Over recent years, ICM has confirmed its position amongst the top medical journals ranking 149 out of 8830, and reigns 3rd out of 33 journals in the critical care category – the first publishing only critical care. In the 2017 Journals Citation Reports, the journal saw its Impact Factor rise to 12.015.
Giuseppe will take over the official post, held by current Editor in Chief Elie Azoulay in January 2019.
