CLINICAL TRIALS RESULTS ~ The BREATHE Study (with link to paper)

Does early extubation using a protocolised noninvasive weaning regimen reduce the time to liberation from ventilation compared with protocolised invasive weaning?

(icTV) Updated interview with Gavin Perkins

Gavin Perkins (Coventry, United Kingdom) rejoins us in the icTV studio at LIVES 2018 in Paris to discuss the Breathe study, the initial results of which were presented during the Hot Topics session at LIVES 2017. Full results and analysis have now been published in JAMA. In this interview, he describes the findings, clinical implications and future studies currently underway utilising the data from this pivotal study comparing protocolised weaning regimens.
