Acute Liver Failure

After studying this module on Pancreatitis, you should be able to manage severe acute pancreatitis with appropriate use of supportive therapy for organ function, antibiotics and surgery; determine the nutritional needs of patients with acute pancreatitis and the optimum mode of delivery.

The interaction between abdominal organs and critical illness is complex and can present in a variety of ways. The first module describes normal physiology of the gastrointestinal tract, and how this is affected by critical illness.
