This session saw Prof Mythen challenged on critical ICU topics by ESICM President Maurizio Cecconi, who also moderated questions from the audience.

Monty Mythen is the Smiths Medical Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at University College London and Director of the UCL Discovery Lab at The London 2012 Olympic legacy Institute of Sport Exercise and Health.

His wide research interests include peri-operative fluid management and trans-oesophageal Doppler, fitness for surgery, heart attack and stroke recovery, metabolism, fluids.
