ESICM COVID-19 Webinar – Thursday 18 June 2020, 16.00 hrs CEST

Two months ago, ESICM held a webinar on AKI in COVID-19 patients. Since then, there has been important additional experience of managing renal support in COVID-19 patients, which we wanted to share with the intensive care community.

A follow-up webinar to address the practical aspects of renal support in AKI during the COVID-19 Pandemic took place on Thursday 18 June at 16.00 hrs.

Topics included:

– managing renal support in COVID-19 patients at the bedside
– dealing with increased demand for renal support during a pandemic
– managing AKI in burdened ICUs
– patient variability in COVID-19 AKI
– integrating additional support to support core ICU staff
– possible differences of AKI in COVID-19 vs. AKI in other diseases
– CRRT vs. other renal support options – how this is managed in real-life settings
– options and choice of anticoagulation with CRRT & pro-coagulant state in COVID-19

The presentations were followed by a Q&A session.
