Supporting those at the frontline of COVID-19

EU COVID-19 Clinicians Network to host live webinar with ESICM – Tuesday 2 June 2020, 17.00-18.00 hrs CEST

The EU COVID-19 Clinicians Network will be hosting a live webinar on “COVID-19 and Intensive Care Medicine” on Tuesday 2 June from 17.00-18.00 hrs CEST. This is the eighth in a series of webinars organised by the COVID-19 Clinical Management Support System – an initiative of the European Commission DG SANTE to support clinicians and other health care professionals at the frontline of the care of COVID-19 patients.

The event has been co-organised with the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) to provide the most up to date knowledge of intensive care management and ethics in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The co-presenters will be Prof. Jozef Kesecioglu, President of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, expert on ethics and intensive care and Head of Department of Intensive Care Medicine, University Medical Center Utrecht, The Netherlands, and Prof. Maurizio Cecconi, President Elect of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and Head of Department Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Units, Humanitas Research Hospital, Lombardy, Italy.

The European Commission DG SANTE will open the seminar and the presenters will then discuss the surge ICU response, clinical aspects, management, ethics and family involvement during a pandemic. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and the webinar will be recorded and available for off-line viewing afterwards.
