Collaborative global approach to ICM
The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and the Sociedad Española de Medicina Intensiva, Crítica y Unidades Coronarias (SEMICYUC) recently met in Brussels with the aim of strengthening ties between the two societies, and of promoting collaboration on the common issues that affect the main lines of research in intensive care medicine.
During this meeting, topics as relevant as the affiliation of new intensivists, the importance of research and education, and the upcoming congresses of both societies were discussed. Also discussed were ideas for promoting awareness of the societies’ work worldwide.
It is hoped that this initiative will form the basis of a more collaborative global approach to intensive medicine services at the European level.
