ESICM & ALIVE Covid-19 Webinar – Saturday 13 June 2020, 14.00-17.00 hrs CEST
85% of the world’s population live in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC). ALIVE, the ESICM Fund, was established in 2017 to support patient care across the globe and transfer knowledge, education and training to improve conditions and outcomes for critically ill patients in LMIC.
Since its launch, ALIVE has been able to deliver theoretical and practical training to enhance knowledge of sepsis and other global infections to multi-disciplinary health care workers in Uganda, Pakistan and Barbados.
COVID-19 is a global emergency and now threatens the lives, well-being and economies of the world’s most vulnerable populations. A special live webinar to address the management of COVID-19 in low-resource countries will be hosted by the ESICM on Saturday 13 June from 14.00–17.00 hrs CEST.
This webinar will address the management of COVID-19 in LMIC, examine what can be done to stop the spread of the pandemic to these poorer nations and what can be done in countries where health care workers are in short supply.
These questions, combined with clinical presentations and evidence, will be discussed by an expert panel of international speakers and a guest representative from the World Health Organisation.
