Prof. Yaseen ARABI, MD, FCCP, FCCM, ATSF is Chairman of the Intensive Care Department, Medical Director, Respiratory Services and Professor at the College of Medicine, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Services (KSAU-HS), King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC), King Abdulaziz Medical City Ryadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is the principal investigator of several multicenter RCTs and studies on MERS.

Dr Lennie DERDE, MD, PhD obtained her PdD degree in 2013 with a doctoral thesis on controlling antibiotic resistance in the ICU. She is the European co-lead of an international adaptive platform trial studying the best treatment for Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) in ICU patients and additional interventional studies to be undertaken during epidemics/pandemics. She is a member of the Dutch intensivists (NVIC) Taskforce on Infectious Threats, the ESICM Coronavirus Task Force and ESICM/ESCMID/ERS Severe CAP Committee.
