The ABCs of Paediatric Care: What do you need to know?

In settings without dedicated paediatric intensivists, adult intensivists may be asked to aid in the care of critically ill or injured children. In this session, chair Samuel Ajizian (US) highlights several informative tools that presenters will provide including a focus on comparative adult and paediatric physiology by co-chair Mark Peters (UK).

Other experts including Brian Kavanagh, Thomas Geeraerts and Maria Karantza will offer therapeutic guidelines for common paediatric critical illness in cases of trauma, respiratory insufficiency and diabetic ketoacidosis. Speakers will also highlight salient differences in paediatric monitoring and provide a practical and useful rapid response algorithm for paediatric stabilisation and transport
