Aims and Missions
The Section on Health Services Research and Outcome (formerly Section on Outcome Evaluation) is, since its foundation, dedicated to outcome research–to developing tools that might help in improving the quality of our work and, thus, the outcome of our patients.

Activities
According to the rules of the Society, the Section members present their proposals and their views to the Congress Commmittee and to the Research Committee through the chair and the deputy of the Section.
Three Working Groups responsible for specific research activities pertain to the Section.
In the last years (chair Philipp Metnitz), they performed relevent researches as the SAPS 3 project, followed by the publication of a relevant number of hifgh value papers, and the SEE studies, devoted to the ICU patient safety.
Moreover, in these months, each Working Group is next to submit or has already submitted at least one paper.
