The ESICM Division of Administrative Affairs (DAA)
is responsible for all administrative tasks, including administration of the membership and the management of the Brussels office. Moreover, the DAA is responsible for the development and processing of strategies related to public relations and general communications.
The Division of Administrative Affairs is led by Philipp Metnitz (Vienna, Austria). The Chairperson of the Division of Administrative Affairs is also the Secretary of ESICM.
The Division includes the following committees and sections:

The committee consists of a board and members including:
- Chair of the Committee
- Chair of the Division of Administrative Affairs.
Members of the committee are appointed by the Chair following application.
Aims and Missions
The European Registry of Intensive Care is a keystone project of ESICM which is intended to develop a broad registry of intensive care units and services throughout Europe.
The ESICM Financial Department
is managed by the Treasurer, Herwig Gerlach (Berlin, Germany). He is also the Deputy Chair of the Division of Administrative Affairs.
Aims and Missions
The Treasurer is in charge of all financial activities including financial planning and management of the assets of the Society. He will supervise the bookkeeping and accounts of the Society with the help of an expert accountant. He reports to the Executive Committee, the Council, and the General Assembly. The Treasurer prepares the annual statement and a report on estimates for meetings. |
