To be able to answer the growing needs of the research community, ESICM has created a Research Committee within its Division of Scientific Affairs. The mission of this Committee is to facilitate and co-ordinate research activities developed by its members, sections and working groups, and also by other groups.

ESICM has created ERIC (European Registry of Intensive Care in Europe), also called the Registry, which is a database aiming at collecting information on ICUs all over Europe. We invite you to contribute to this project, to help us draw a map of intensive care in Europe.

The Research Committee also co-ordinates the Surviving Sepsis Campaign, an action on Consent and research, the Industry Research Award Campaign programme, and Other activities.

You can participate!

You can participate to research in intensive care medicine through the various activities supported by the ECCRN, or through various other opportunities.

One of the main instruments for coordinating the research is the ECCRN (European Critical Care Research Network).
