Aims and Missions
Our Working Group (WG) is devoted to promote clinical and basic investigation on Nutrition and Metabolism in critically ill patients within the ESICM.

Activities
Guidelines for Parenteral Nutrition: We are currently planning an update in collaboration with ESPEN and other partner Societies. ICU Nutrition Day 2008: We are also to investigate the Nutrition practices on European ICUs and related outcomes in collaboration with Dr M. Hiesmayr and his coworkers, from the University of Vienna. There will be questionnaires 12 languages of the participating hospitals in addition to English. The survey is going to be performed on May 29th, 2008 and we want to invite to all the European ICUs to join to our outstanding project. See ECCRN project page for more information.
TICACOS study: Finally, our WG is involved in the final design of the study named “Tight Calorie balance Control Study” or TICACOS under the leadership of Dr Pierre Singer from the Department of General Intensive Care and Institute of Nutrition Research of the Rabin Medical Center in Israel.
Meetings agenda and minutes The next meeting of the group will be held in Lisbon at the Annual ESICM Congress in September 2008.
